Starting Monday, the Rochester City School District will be implementing a new program to help student practice safer sex.

With the help from the state department of health, the district will begin a condom availability plan. This will allow any student grade 9 through 12 access to a free, limited number of condoms.

The district hopes this will lower the number of teen pregnancies and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

Parents of students under the age of 18 have the choice of opting their child out of the program.
