Gunner Blaise hit three's on back-to-back possessions, each giving (1)Schroeder a lead, as the Warriors held off a game (8)Thomas team 46-45 in the Class AA1 quarterfinals Friday night on Ridge Road.

Thomas led by 10 points in the third quarter and 31-25 heading into the fourth. Schroeder was dreadful shooting the ball until the final four minutes of the game.

Mitchell Herman nailed a 3 to cut the lead to 38-37 with just over three minutes to go. Moments after the two minute mark, Blaise hit another to put the Warriors on top.

Robert Aguilera quickly gave the Titans back the lead with a corner three, but Blaise came back with another long one and Schroeder had the lead for good at 44-43 with 90 seconds to play.

Two free throws by Herman pushed the Warrior lead to 3, but Tyler Carges hit a layup with 12 ticks left to slice the lead back to one point.

Schroeder missed the front end of a 1-and-1, but the Titans could not get a shot off before the horn sounded to end their upset bid.

Blaise led the Warriors with 15 points while Emitt Holt added 14 with 18 boards.

Aguilera topped the Titans with 15 points and Carges had 14. Both players made most of their shots just when Thomas' effort began to sag, but they needed one more to win the game.

Schroeder will now face (5)Penfield in the semifinals Thursday night at Blue Cross Arena. The Patriots held off (4)McQuaid 52-51 Friday night.
