Condom Program To Begin In City High Schools Next Week

By: WROC-TV
Updated: February 21, 2013
Beginning next week, condoms will be available to Rochester City School District high school students.

Students in grades 9 through 12 will have access to the condoms beginning February 25th. The district voted to institute the program last year to curb teen pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. The condoms will only be freely available to students who have completed a health education course and whose parents have not signed a program opt-out letter.

Many city school parents have taken issue with the new program. Hear from both the district and parents on News 8 at 5 and 6.
