A local business is holding a Facebook photo fundraiser in memory of a Fairport teen who lost his life to cancer.

It is not your typical fundraiser, but it is one that Blake Cognata would have approved of. The Fairport teen lost his life to cancer in January. Now, one local business is keeping his memory alive by taking photos of you. "Keepsake Photography" is taking Facebook profile pictures for a $10 donation to the Blake Cognata scholarship fund.

"Blake was such a fun person that we want that to come through, so we tried to make it really fun and had a lot of fun props that we put together so they can use for their photos," Greece photographer Christine Thomson said.

Thomson is a photographer at Keepsake Photography in Greece. The business also has a location in Victor. Thomson met Blake last year and took his senior portraits.

"He was fabulous. He was always smiling. He was just a wonderful, wonderful young man," she said.

A wonderful young man who loved to have fun. Thomson says it is one of the reasons why she wanted to make this fundraiser special, using all sorts of props. Keepsake Photography hopes to raise $10,000. You can get your fun pictures taken until 7 p.m. For directions, click here.
