A man has been taken into custody after a nearly five-hour standoff on Parma Center Road.

Sheriff deputies say Thomas Bell, 42, came out of his house and was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. The whole situation started when Bell's ex-girlfriend called police and said was afraid Bell was on his way to harm her. A police pursuit began early Wednesday afternoon when Bell refused to stop. Police followed him to his home where he stayed for several hours. Police say Bell has had several run-ins with the authorities and there were warrants out for his arrest.
