Thomas Bryant led (7)Bishop Kearney with 19 points as the Kings thumped (10)Gates-Chili 74-46 in a Class AA1 first round game Tuesday night on Kings Highway.

The Spartans were as close as two points down in the second quarter, but Bryant beat the first half buzzer with a three and the Kings went to the locker room with a 35-28 lead.

Chinonso Obokoh added 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Kings while Antwoine Anderson scored 18 points.

Miles McGregor topped Gates-Chili with 13 points.

The Kings move on to play (2)Fairport in the quarterfinals Friday night, in what might go down as the all time worst reward for earning a 2-seed in basketball history.
