Rochester seniors Jackie Walker and Amy Woods would not let the Case Western Reserve women's basketball team spoil their last regular season home game, with the Yellowjackets coming out on top 72-68 on Sunday afternoon in the Palestra.

Walker tied her career high with 20 points and added seven rebounds while Woods was strong inside, chipping in 12 points and six rebounds.  Junior Loren Wagner also was key for the Yellowjackets, scoring 14 points and adding eight rebounds.  Rochester is 19-5 overall and sits at 11-2 in the UAA tied atop the standings with Emory.  UR travels to Atlanta next Saturday for what amounts to a UAA championship game.

Case was led by Evy Iacono who had 23 points and seven assists.  Emily Mueller added 13 points and six rebounds for the Spartans (15-8, 7-6 UAA).

The game featured eight ties and nine lead changes with the last one coming on a Wagner layup with 3:31 remaining in the game.  That started an 8-2 burst which put the Yellowjackets up six with just 54 seconds remaining.  A Walker jumper from the free throw line seemed to be the clinching basket for UR.

Rochester's Ally Zywicki and Walker combined to go 7-8 from the charity stripe in the closing minute to seal the win.  UR's 11 wins in conference play ties for the most in school history with 2008-08 team.

Case held its biggest lead of six points midway through the first half at 19-13.  UR would battle to tie it at 21 all with 5:30 left in the half.  After that, the teams would exchange baskets into the break with the visiting Spartans holding a 33-28 edge.

After halftime, Rochester went on an 11-4 run over the first 4:30 of the second half to grab a slim two point.  A Paige Aleski three-pointer would give UR the lead with 15:44 remaining.

Behind by six, Case Western Reserve would battle back with a 10-3 run to snag a one point lead with 7:48 left.  The 6 foot 2 Mueller showed a shooting touch, hitting two jumpers during the burst.

After the Yellowjackets took the lead back, Erica Iafelice hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 57 with just 4 and half minutes remaining.  That's when Wagner's layup started a run which would prove to be enough for UR to come out on top.

Case as a team shot exactly 50% from the floor (30-60) and made six trey's.  UR shot 41% from the floor (26-63) and made five from behind the arc.  The Yellowjackets held a big edge on the glass, outrebounding the Spartans 44-26.

Walker, Woods and Kristyn Wright all were honored pre-game as it was Rochester's senior day.  Assistant coach Glenn Begly also received a token from the Yellowjackets as he is winding down his coaching career.
