Hagel Nomination Blocked

Republicans have blocked the nomination of former senator Chuck Hagel to become the next Secretary of Defense.
The Senate came up two votes short of the 60 needed to move Hagel's nomination forward. Republicans are blocking a vote because they want more information from the White House about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. They want to know what the President did in response to the attack.
