Irondequoit's I-Square project got a vote of approval from the West Irondequoit school board.

At Monday night's special board meeting, members passed a resolution to grant I-Square the tax breaks it needs to move forward. In a statement to New 8, the board said it hopes encouraging I-Square's development will lead to a stronger business climate in the town.

In a separate vote, residents in West Irondequoit voted to dissolve the district's "Property Loss and Liability Reserve Fund" so that the money can be used for other purposes.
