Transportation is getting back to normal as well with airlines and Amtrak close to returning to normal schedules. On Long Island, crews worked through the night to clear off the snow from the Long Island expressway in time for the morning commute. Hundreds of cars and trucks were stranded on the expressway in the storm. A 16-mile stretch of the expressway was closed Sunday so crews could clear snow and remove cars. Heavy duty construction trucks were brought in to clear off the hard-packed snow. Governor Cuomo said Suffolk County was the hardest-hit area of New York.
