It takes 20 plow drivers and more than 100 tons of salt to clear the town of Henrietta, "it equates to around 456 lane miles," explained Criag Eckert, the Commissioner of Public Works for the town of Henrietta.
Plow dirvers are working around the clock to clean the white stuff, and not just once or twice, "we'll be going out a third right after we get some of the employees something to eat," said Eckert.
Friday night's snow storm also packed a mean punch, "this storm we want to plow off the snow and salt it underneath to get some grip, get some traction to the cars that are driving behind because it's a little bit greasy when you plow the snow off tonight," explained Eckert.
Drivers use special techniques to gracefully glide through the white stuff to clear the road for drivers, "there is a lot of training and expertise that goes into a lot of drivers that operate these machines," said Eckert.
When the snow stops falling crews still have work to do, clearing the side roads they didn't get to in the thick of the storm.
