A father saved his four young children from a house fire in Pavilion on Tuesday.

The fire started just after 10 a.m. on Telephone Road in Pavilion. Genesee County Sheriff deputies say Jessie Rosenbaum, 26, was home with his four children when one discovered the fire downstairs. He tooks the kids to a second story window and onto the roof. Rosenbaum lowered all four children to safety before jumping to the ground where he injured his back. He was taken to the hospital by Mercy Flight. None of the four children were injured. Fire officials say the fire was started by a kerosene heater.
