There will not only be improvements to the existing space, but more tenants are coming in. You can expect a new bakery, a new art exhibit and a portion of the second floor will be converted into an event space. There will be more seating outside and improved lighting in the courtyard. This is an effort to bring more people to Rochester to enjoy the arts.
"We want to bring more people downtown, see the arts, there's the mag, there's first fridays, a lot of area to enjoy the arts in this area. Village Gate has the restaurants and boutiques to make it a full service area," business manager Kathy Capierse said.
A total of 50 new jobs will be created this year at the Village Gate. The renovations are expected to be complete by May.
