A Greece school teacher is under investigation for his relations with a student.

Greece Police say a female student lodged the allegations against the teacher about two weeks ago. They say he had inappropriate communication with the students through e-mails, text messages and face-to-face conversations. The Greece School District reassigned the unnamed male teacher to a non-teaching position. Greece Police say the teen is a student of this teacher. She has remained in school and is still attending classes. No charges have been filed against the teacher, but police are taking the allegations seriously.

"We normally start off with trying to interview the alleged suspect, the reported victim, any witnesses. Researching and obtaining any sort of evidence, whether it be emails, phone records, anything that can help us in finding the truth in an investigation," Lieutenant Jason Helfer said.

"Information was brought to the district's attention regarding communications between a teacher and a student prompting an investigation. The district immediately contacted Greece Police and the teacher was reassigned to a non-instructional facility pending the outcome of that investigation," district spokeswoman Laurel Heiden said.

The district is not identifying the school where this teacher worked. No other students have filed any complaints against him.
