A garbage truck operator who was pinned between two trucks has died, according to New York State Police.

Police say Timothy Gorton, 25, of Caledonia was killed Friday afternoon.

They say a grabage truck pulled over on State Route 39 in the Town of Leicester, Livingston County.

That truck was unloading an overloaded garbage toter from a driveway just before 2 pm.

Police say a second garbage truck, driven by Gorton pulled over to help.

The two trucks were facing in opposite directions.

They say Gorton left his truck in reverse and was pinned by the two trucks.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Both trucks are operated by L.T. Disposal out of Caledoonia.
