What does family mean to you? Have you got a picture that captures that? Children Awaiting Parents wants you to enter it in their photo contest. It will benefit children in Foster Care who are looking for families.
For 41 years Children Awaiting Parents has found loving adoptive homes for children who have waited the longest in foster care. They partner with local photographers to take wonderful photos of our kids to help them get adopted, now they're holding their own photo contest. The theme is "What Family Means to Me." Photos will be accepted until Valentine's Day at midnight.
The judges include News 8's Kevin Doran, a photography professor at RIT, an advertising executive, 2 professional photographers and 2 producers in Hollywood, including Molly Smith who produced the movie "The Blindside." Categories are Professional, Amateur Adult, Collegiate and School-Age
Winners in each category will win prizes but the best part is having your photo displayed at the Greater Rochester International Airport for 1 month for thousands of people to see.
The judging will all be done on-line, and the winners will be revealed at a celebration reception at Studio 180 on February 27, 2013.
To submit a photo of what family means to you there is a $15 or $20 donation. All the proceeds will support Children Awaiting Parents. For information on entering the photo contest click here.
