Monroe County Sheriff and NYSSA president Patrick O'Flynn announced the "Yellow Dot" program Wednesday morning. People of all ages are encouraged to fill out an information card with personal contact and medical information. A yellow dot sticker in the car window or on a home door tells first responders that they can access information in the glove box or freezer.
"Anybody that obviously has allergies to medicines or has a particular medical need, this is how to be able to get that information out in case you can't tell somebody at the time that they need to treat you," O'Flynn said.
People can find information cards and yellow dot stickers at all Monroe County Sheriff substations and all county DMV locations.
