Faith Temple, which is on Elmwood Avenue, had planned to build a new church, a senior center and more on about 70 acres of land on Westfall Road. However, after seven years of planning it has decided to sell the property instead. In 2004, the town of Brighton tried to use eminent domain to force the church to sell all its land on Westfall. The two sides reached a settlement and the town purchased 40 acres to expand Buckland Park. Faith Temple says it now plans to sell the remaining acreage and use the profits to buy an existing building elsewhere.
