MCC Closer to Making Move to Kodak Building

Monroe Community College is getting closer to moving into the Kodak building. On Saturday, the college held a second public meeting regarding the plans to move it's downtown campus.
Officials say the $72 million project will allow the college to expand its workforce development programs. It would also provide better access to public transportation and enhance student life, something both students and faculty support.
"They're saying we need more space for learning, we need up to date space, social space, we need green space, and basic restaurant services that we would expect to have a new campus," says Emeterio Otero, the Executive Dean and Damon City Campus.
The college is working to finalize purchase terms with Kodak officials, and then a majority of legislators will have to approve the sale. That vote should happen sometime in the next month.
