Kara Houppert led all scorers with 18 points, including the game winning layup with just under a minute to go as Thomas nipped Fairport 50-47 in Webster Friday night.

Houppert--who surpassed 1,000 points for her career in the Titans' last game--finished a fast break layup to give Thomas a 49-47 lead.

Fairport had two chances to tie, but Candaisy Crawford blocked a free throw line jumper. After Crawford made one of two free throws, the Raiders had 4.9 seconds to go the lenght of the floor for a game-tying three, but could not get a shot off.

The teams exchanged big baskets over the final three minutes of the game. Caroline Dalton scored on a three-point to tie the game at 43. Fairport then took a one-point lead on a free throw, but Crawford answered with a three-point play of her own to put Thomas up 46-44.

Laura Valente drove for a tying bucket as the Red Raiders evened the score at 46. Each team then made one free throw to set Houppert up for the deciding score.

Allie Diehl added 14 points for Thomas and Crawford scored 13.

Dalton, who went over 1,000 points for her career in the game, led Fairport with 16 points. Valented had 14.
