Man Dead, Another Hurt In Crash on Bennington Drive

A man is dead after wrapping his car around a tree in the city.

Police say a male driver may have been speeding when he lost control of his car around five o'clock Thursday night on Bennington Drive, near Dewey Ave.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police haven't released the man's name, but say he was in his mid to late 20's.

A male passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the slick weather roads can make deadly driving conditions, "with these cold temperatures even with the salts down, they don't work as quickly as if the temperatures were 10 or 15 degrees warmer, so please do drive with caution," explained Lieutenant Ron Malley of the Rochester Police Department.
