Police Find Body of Missing Webster Man

The search for a Webster man has ended.
Police say they found the body of 80-year-old Marco Montante Tuesday.
He had been missing since Monday, around 10am. He was last seen at his home on Lauren Court in Webster.
Authorities say the search for him was extensive. At any given point they had more than 50 people actively looking for him.
"State Police came out, boarder patrol, the sheriff's department, we actually used a bloodhound from Wayne County Sheriff's Department," explained Webster Police Lieutenant Joseph Rieger. "So, we had a lot of resources out there all day and actually all night."
With the help of volunteers, first responders searched for Montante by foot, by car, by horse even by helicopter nonstop for more than 30 hours.
Montante's body was discovered just after 4:00pm Tuesday afternoon, about two miles from his home, in a drainage ditch on Ashbrook Circle in Penfield.
Rieger said a West Webster firefighter made the discovery.
He also said that Montante suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and had a history of wondering off.
"He has walked off in the past and we've always found him or he's walked home."
Rieger added they were hoping they'd be able to find him this time, too.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time."
While there is little doubt that the body wasn't Montante's, authorities will still wait for confirmation from the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office.
