The former president of the Monroe County legislature has retired from the Monroe County Water Authority.

Wayne Zyra was hired as a management analyst back in 2010 right after he left the legislature. As president it was Zyra's job to appoint Water Board commissioners. His hiring as an analyst led some to criticize the move as favoritism by Republican friends he picked to serve on the board.
