After nearly a whole day of discussion, the New York State Assembly has voted to pass historic gun legislation already approved by the Senate Monday night.

The bill passed in the Assembly by a vote of 104-43. Some of its provisions include expanding New York's ban on assault weapons and harsher penalties for the murder of first responders and emergency personnel. In addition, the legislation seeks to keep mentally-ill people from purchasing firearms.

The bill will now go to Governor Andrew Cuomo's desk for signage. Once signed, the gun law will be the toughest in the nation.

Does Cuomo or anyone else truly bekieve that a limit on ammo clips will stopsomeone determined to do harm? All they will do is carry 4 seven bullet clips instead of 2 14 bullet clips. The same amount of ammo to kill with just more to carry. Someone who is hell bent on shootong someone WILL NOT CARE if he has to carry 2 or 4 clips to to his killing.Go after the CRIMINALS!!!Go after the ones who illegally gave a crazy the gun/s or had a robbery of weapons and did not report it.If that kids mother had told the cops of her sons crazy mental state instead of hiding it and protecting him and worse, keeping guns where he could get them odds are that the shooting would not have occurred. If she were not killed by her son she should of had to face criminal charges. The woman in Webster who bought guns, then said they were stolen but did NOT report them stolen to the cops should face criminal charges for allowing the thief to have them and knoew one knowing. I believe she either sold or gave the guns she bought to Spangler. She aided a criminal and in a way is also responsible for the fires and killings that he did. Those are the people to go after. Not people who abide by the laws.Fingerprint EVERYONE. If you are law abiding then you should have no problem. If you are legally entitled to Social Services, Social Security, gun ownership, or a legal citizen(not an illegal alien)applying for benefits or drivers license or anything where ID is required then you should have NO PROBLEM with using a thumbprint for identification to get thiese things. If i were to apply for food stamps I would rather use my thumbprint for ID to get them instead of a card that ANYONE could take and use who is NOT entitled to them.Sure would cut down one people getting benefits and stuff they are NOT entitled to. Once again things are being done [censored] backwards. Nothing knew for the way NY goverment handles things.
