Dryden Theatre at the Eastman House is going dark for the next two months for a big renovation project.

People had the chance to purchase seats from the theatre because there are new ones going in. The theatre is also getting new projection machines and other aesthetic improvements. Last night was the last showing at the theatre until March.

"It's a great and unique thing for the Dryden to do because these aren't just seats that have been there since the theatre opened. Jimmy Stewart could've sat in these seats, Audrey Hepburn could've sat in these seats, and countless people have come here and enjoyed these movies you can't see anywhere else but here in Rochester," buyer T.C. Pellett said.

The renovation project is possible through state grants and contributions from donors.
