Fairport Soldier To Be Laid To Rest

A local soldier from Fairport is expected to be laid to rest Wednesday night.

A funeral will take place for Private First Class Grant Wise. Wise was found dead late last month at an Army barracks in Alaska. Investigators say the 25-year-old was found in another soldier's room with a single gunshot wound. The Army's criminal investigation unit investigating. The funeral service for Wise is taking place at Perinton Presbyterian Church on Pittsford Palmyra Road in Fairport. The service is set to begin at 7 p.m.
