Former Iraq War General Dies

General Norman Schwarzkopf has died after suffering complications from pneumonia.

Known as "Stormin' Norman," he gained fame as the commander of coalition forces that freed Kuwait after Iraq invaded the country in 1991. The White House issued a statement that said in part, "our country is more secure because of Schwarzkopf's service." He was 78 years old.
