Mendon Boys' Late Surge Earns Win Over Sutherland

Matt D'Amico put Mendon ahead to stay with three minutes left and the Vikings held on for a 48-42 win over Sutherland in the boys half of the Rainbow Classic at the University of Rochester Friday night.

Matt Sullivan led all scorers with 16 points.

Sutherland ran off nine points in a row to tie the game at 30 during the third quarter. It was a one-point game heading to the fourth quarter. The teams traded the lead over the first four minutes of the final quarter until D'Amico made the decisive bucket.
