Modern sporting rifles are no longer being sold at Dick's Sporting Goods in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting.

The chain said the move was out of respect for the victims and families during this time of national mourning. At this time, it is unclear how long the suspension will last of modern sporting rifles nationwide, but in the store closest to Newtown, all guns were removed. A search on Dick's website showed a blank page for those types of rifles. We caught up with some shoppers in Henrietta. Some say the decision to pull the guns won't help.

"I don't know. It's not going to do much good I don't think. The hunters and the people who use the guns for self-defense it's not going to help," Chili resident William Diesel said.

Others say it is a good idea for now.

"If they want to suspend them for a while, I think that's probably a good thing to do for them, being that it is such a tragedy and such an awful thing to happen," Ogden resident Debra McCurby said.
