Local Kids Get Early Christmas Gifts to Help Stay Warm

By: WROC-TV
Updated: December 15, 2012
It was an early Christmas for hundreds of excited Rochester children who got the chance to pick out brand new coats.

There were racks of coats in all colors and sizes, and this year, hats and gloves were included. The organizers want to make sure that when the cold Rochester winter finally does hit, these kids will be ready.

Members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, WDKX Radio and the Rochester Police Department organized the coat drive. One of the organizers, Alexis Leslie says this event is as much for her as it is for the kids.

This is the fourth year for the coat giveaway.
