The Ontario County Sheriff's Office said Thursday night someone gave them a tip about new information in the case of 32-year-old Adam Chase.
News 8 has learned the tip brought them to a home on Hagerty Road in Rushville where remains were found. Sheriff Phil Povero though cannot confirm if the remains found belong to Chase. Crews were also searching at Chase's home on Mott Road Thursday night. Sheriff's deputies said nothing was found at the home. As of Friday morning Sheriff Povero still called this a missing persons case.
"At this time, there are no persons that have been charged with any crime," Povero said. "Several persons, including Adam Chase's wife, are being interviewed. We do not want to jeopardize this investigation, should this evolve into a criminal case."
Chase disappeared back on June 14th from his home in Stanley. Police said he had an argument with his wife, then left on foot. Sheriff Povero said he will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Friday morning with more details.
