Preventing Falls Among the Elderly

Falls among older adults are very common. One-third of adults age 65 and over falls each year. Among older adults in the Finger Lakes region, an Excellus BCBS report showed an annual average of about 6,000 fall-related ER visits and 3,000 fall-related hospitalizations.
To prevent falls, it is important to stay active and exercise regularly.
