Seven local soldiers returned home early Wednesday morning after serving overseas.

The soldiers are members of the New York National Guard and arrived at the Rochester Airport just before 4 a.m.  They served nearly a year in Kuwait as part of Operation Eduring Freedom.

Specialist Catherine Michaloski was among the group coming home.  She said it felt great to be home for the holidays to catch up with friends and family.

The troops are part of a group of 80 soldiers returning home across upstate New York.
