First "Voice Of The Citizen" Forum

By: WROC-TV
Updated: December 11, 2012
Rochester's police chief and mayor have joined forces to combat violence in the city, and they want to hear from you.

They say the violence is too much. There have been 37 homicides so far this year, which is up from last year. The brunt of that violence was experienced during the summer months. Chief Sheppard and Mayor Richards kicked off these forums at the Frederick Douglass Resource Center on King Street. There will be three additional meetings held in the next two months:

Tuesday, January 15th - Carter Street Recreation Center
Tuesday, January 29th - Edgerton Stardust Ballroom
Tuesday, February 5th - Cobbs Hill Park, Lake Riley Lodge

All of the forums go from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
