The organization donated a check Monday to Mercy Community Services. Last year, Alyssa's Angels donated $500 to five Rochester charities. This year they got other groups to match the $500 donation, bringing the total to $1,000 for five non-profit organizations.
"This money is incredibly vital because there are people in our community who are very thankful for the donors and supporters we have but often money comes with restrictions and thankfully to Alyssa's Angels, BRX research, global research and the Sugler family, we can have this money to buy presents and to make the holiday's special for young women," Nikishi Johnson said.
Alyssa's Angels is named in honor of Alyssa Rose Bruno, who passed away in 2006 but left a legacy of kindness and generosity especially with kids. Mercy Community Services helps more than 100 young women and children in our community.
