Senator Schumer To Get Legislation to Aid Sandy Victims

By: WROC-TV
Updated: December 9, 2012
Senator Chuck Schumer will introduce legislation that will help people impacted by Superstorm Sandy.

The Senator is proposing to reduce the tax burden by thousands of dollars and allow full deduction for expenses paid or incurred as a result of disaster clean up. The legislation would also waive penalties for individuals who take an early withdrawal from their retirement plan.

The Senator says these changes and others are common sense and a simple way to help disaster victims.
