Tremont St. Homicide Victim Identified

Jamar Washington, 32, died after being shot on Tremont Street around 10:30 p.m. Rochester Police say the man lived at the home. He was shot at least once in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's mother spoke with us at the scene. Barbara Thomas says that her son was very active in the church and helped the poor. She said she wants the violence in Rochester to stop. Thomas tells us that her son leaves behind a fiance and seven children.
Police do not have any suspects in custody. Washington's death marks Rochester's 37th homicide of the year.
