If you've been to Rochester's Public Market lately you may have noticed this; a unique "MARC' left behind by area artists.

The sidewalk art is serious business for a group of teens stepping up their game to bring pride back to their own neighborhood.

Shawn Dunwoody leads MARC; the Mural Artists Rochester Crew.

Their work is part of a 2 year long city program, focusing on areas that need a little T.L.C. and creativity.

Dunwoody added "We looked around the globe to see what other kinda cool, guerilla art that people are doing and we said 'Lets really do this.'"

Members of MARC decided the classic game of Monopoly was a way to bring fun back to Pennsylvania Ave.

"Making art approachable so that it's not so distant from us. We can all connect in some way, shape or form to a game", added Dunwoody.

Just steps away, this MARC creation also brings back childhood memories while completing a pretty ugly section of broken concrete.

It's called New Kids on the Block, a name that also describes the artists who worked hard to make it happen.

Teen artist Ian Funchess said "If somebody comes by here and says 'Who did that?', I'm like 'I do'. And I actually live by here too, so it's like something to be proud of."

Some other MARC projects are a work in progress, like this chalkboard that prompts neighbors to decorate it, called Words to Live By.

Or this sculpture, called moss graffiti.

If left alone, the artists hope it will "Grow Fresh".

But the problems posed by onlookers won't stop them from taking on the avant-garde activities, to make Rochester re"MARC"able, one block at a time.

Dunwoody added "When these little small things are seen by the community it brings about a smile on their faces, and what's more beautiful than that?"
