Hunting for the Perfect Christmas Trees

This weekend along with finding holiday gifts, many families also started their hunt for a new Christmas Tree. This weekend marked the beginning of the Christmas tree season.
"We usually come out right after Thanksgiving," tree shopper Robert Lasher said. "We like to have the tree up as soon as we can.
"It's just part of the Christmas tradition," shopper Jill Drake said.
For some families real is the only way to go - a fake tree is not an option.
At the Victor Christmas Tree Farm, David Faubel helps match families with the perfect perennial.
"I'm kind of partial to the way each tree is a little bit different, and it has it's own character to it," said owner David Faubel.
His farm typically sells 500 to 1,000 trees a year. His crew does everything from smoothing out the trunk, to binding the tree and then strapping it to the car.
It's just three days into the season, but so far so good. This year, there are five weeks instead of four until Christmas.
"It's kind of a long season, so we're about where we expect to be," Faubel said.
Some shoppers want to chop the tree down themselves.
"I want to say timber," said 8-year-old Kayla Waterman.
Other shoppers like Drake veer toward precut trees.
"The fresh tree smell goes all through the house," she said.
For Drake buying a fresh tree is a tradition as old as her 36-year-long marriage. Without it, Christmas just wouldn't be the same.
