A new poll is out that shows how New Yorkers feel about holiday shopping this year.

The Siena Research Institute released the results Tuesday. About 54 percent of those polled think stores should not open on Thanksgiving Day. Nearly a quarter of those polled plan to shop on Black Friday. More New Yorkers plan to increase holiday spending, buy gifts for more people and spend slightly more on those gifts compared to last year.
