Canandaigua Teacher Accused of Having Sex With Student

A Canandaigua teacher is facing charges for allegedly having sexual contact with a student.
Canandaigua Police say Lisa Footer, 44, is a teacher at Canandaigua Academy. Footer is accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old student in a parking lot on South Main Street on Saturday. Police believe that Footer had an on-going relationship with the teen for the past several months. They do not believe that any sexual contact happened on school grounds.
Footer is charged with sex abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. She remains in the Ontario County Jail on $5,000 bond. Investigators say more charges are pending. The Canandaigua School District has placed her on administrative leave and she is barred from being on school grounds.
