The race between Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and Chris Collins in the new 27th Congressional District looks to be in a dead heat.

The latest Siena poll shows Collins leading Hochul by just one point. It's the last day for the two candidates to get their message out.

Chris Collins stopped in Canandaigua to get last minute votes.

"If you do believe we need more jobs in America, less spending and a balanced budget in Washington, energy independence and we have to repeal Obama Care. That's my message. That's my agenda, said Collins.

His opponent, first-term Congresswoman Kathy Hochul kept busy campaigning on the opposite side of the 27th Congressional District in Orchard Park.

"People did not imagine that it would ever be this close in what is the most Republican district in the state of New York. The president is probably going to lose this district by 14 points and a lot of people said I would be gone with him. That's not going to happen," said Hochul.

Chris Collins said it was important for him to be in Canandaigua.

"I'm going to be here for you after the election as well because there is the question of you're not from my area, so from Erie County, I'm sending the message. My whole family lives in Monroe County. I have a business in Monroe County, so this is just showing that they can count on me after the election," said Collins.

Both candidates know these next few hours are critical. It's a close race that can be anyone's game.

"I'm independent and just from what I heard today in here, so many Republicans are supporting me because they know we have to break the gridlock that is going on in Washington," said Hochul.

"We always knew it would be tight. We are very pleased. We have been leading from day one, and it's going to be tight and we are going to win," said Collins.
