Rochester Man Charged with Arson After House Fire Friday Morning

A Rochester man is being charged with arson in connection with a fire Friday morning.

Jerome Tavolino is being charged with arson in the second degree, a class B felony. The fire happened Friday morning just before 9 a.m.

An 11-year-old boy and his 3-year-old sister were in the house when the fire started. They were able to escape the second floor without injury.

Tavolino was found after a tip was called in by a concerned citizen. He is being held at the Monroe County Jail awaiting his arraignment.
