The only thing more familiar than picking up hardware for T.J. Crye is finding the endzone.

Already a Section V champion, the Avon quarterback also picked up the Class D Offensive Player of the Year and was named the Class D State Tournament Qualifier MVP as Avon won 43-7 over Batavia Notre Dame.

Crye finished the day with 136 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 14 carries, while completing 7 of his 16 throws for 137 yards and two touchdowns. His running back, Jake Martinez ran for 119 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Batavia Notre Dame scored the game's first points thanks to a Tim McCulley 3-yard run 3:38 into the contest. After that, Avon scored the next 43 points, including 22 in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead into halftime.

The win puts the Braves in the state tournament for the first time. Avon won the Section V Class D championship last weekend over Red Jacket. The Braves will take on Section VI champion Randolph on Friday, September 9th at 5:30 from All High Stadium in Buffalo.
