Travel to and from New York City is slowly getting back to normal. Hundreds of flights were canceled beginning last weekend. Some people in Rochester were stranded for days.

Priya Bassi, a Gates High School student, flew to New York City Saturday for a bridal shower. She was suppose to come home Monday.

"They told me Monday morning that it was canceled, so I got worried, and was like how am I going to get back to school and get all my work and then it was canceled three other times," said Bassi.

Bassi knew Hurricane Sandy was coming, but it wasn't until she saw the damage that she realized how bad it was.

"In Queens, there were trees blocking the road. Police everywhere. Manhattan was crazy. Flooding everywhere," said Bassi.

Now safely home in a much calmer Rochester, Bassi is ready to go back to school. The 11th grader says will share her stories from Queens with her teachers and friends.
