It was one of the finest coached games you'll ever see at the high school level.

No turnovers. Seven penalties combined. Two incredibly gutsy calls.

Nick Barclay ran for two with just over a minute remaining to give (3)Pittsford a 29-28 win over (2)Hilton in the Class AA semifinals at Sahlen's Stadium on a rainy Sunday night.

Barclay had scored a five yard touchdown to pull the Panthers within one. On the two point try, he ran off tackle right and easily found the end zone.

Hilton's comeback try ended on a fourth down incompletion near midfield.

The courage from Pittsford head coach Keith Molinich on the two point decision was in response to an equally daring call by Hilton head coach Rich Lipani just moments earlier.

The Cadets faced a 4th and 6 at the Pittsford 15 yard line in a tie game with just under four minutes left. Lipani called the halfback option.

Matthew Schulz took the handoff and threw an excellent pass to Anthony Nigrelli for a go-ahead touchdown.

After each team scored on its opening drive, Pittsford took a 21-7 lead on TD runs by Glynn Molinich and Barclay. DJ Logory answered for Hilton with a 31 yard touchdown pass to Nick Prince with a minute remaining the first half, slicing the deficit to 21-14 at the half.

The Cadets then owned the third quarter. Literally. Hilton opened the second half with a 24 play, 80 yard drive that consumed all 12 minutes in the quarter and six seconds of the fourth. It was capped by a game tying Derek Richards four yard touchdown run that set up the dramatic finish.

Molinich finished with a game high 135 yards rushing for Pittsford and one touchdown. Barclay had 70 yards on the ground and three scores, plus the game winning two point conversion.

Richards led Hilton with 113 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Logory threw for 115 yards and a TD while Nick Prince hauled in six of Logory's passes for 80 yards and a score.

Pittsford advances to face (4)Aquinas in the Class AA Finals Saturday night at Sahlen's Stadium. Kickoff is 6pm. Aquinas upset (1)Rush-Henrietta 21-13. The Royal Comets had been unbeaten and ranked number one in New York State.
