Political action committees, or PAC's are spending a lot of money in the race for the 25th Congressional District.
Most of it is going to TV ads, both positive and negative, and every dollar spent is more crucial than ever.
A recent poll shows only 6% of voters are still undecided in the race for the 25th.
Tina Shively has more on the dollars being spent to get your vote.
When it comes to campaigning in the 21st century it's all about the money and how much is spent to get a candidate's message across.
"It's all about hammering that message over and over and over again," said Political Analyst Aaron Wicks. "So if people see the ad once or twice it's wasted money. They need to see the ad 5 or 6 times before it starts to sink in."
In the race for the 25th Congressional District, advertising dollars spent on Monroe County's airwaves are rising into the millions.
Both candidates have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on commercials on News 8 and on our sister station Fox Rochester alone since August.
However, the impact of who takes over in the 25th reaches way beyond our state.
Washington D.C. also has a vested interest in who will represent the Rochester area after election day.
Crossroads GPS, a Karl Rove backed Super PAC just announced plans to spend $1.4 million at TV stations in our market.
They're only one of the many national groups who want you to vote for the candidate they support.
But, is the plan working? Some local voters say no.
Naomi Wooden from Greece said "The fact that they both have their claws out makes me not want to vote for either one of them."
"I tend to groan most of the time, because a lot of them tend to be negative and I just don't really get much out of it," said Jeff Sanna of Rochester.
wicks added "Slaughter has an enrollment advantage, but Brooks probably has a bit of momentum and national tide on her side, so it's gonna be a close race. I guarantee that election night were gonna be up late watching this one."

And Slaughters outlandish accusations and call for a criminal investigation has earned Brooks my vote.
