The College Town project proposed for the Mount Hope Avenue area now has federal funding.

New York Senator Charles Schumer has announced $20 million in funding for the project. The project is expected to bring over 1,000 jobs into the city of Rochester, many of which are in construction. College Town is an estimated $100 million project of the University of Rochester. The mixed-use project will be built on a 16-acre site owned by the university. It's on the west side of Mount Hope Avenue between Elmwood Avenue and Crittenden Boulevard.

Groundbreaking for the project is planned for November.
