Vanessa joins News 8/FOX Rochester from WICU/WSEE in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Vanessa started her broadcast career at the age of 13, co-hosting the McDonald's Steelers KidZONE for the black and gold. During her four seasons with the team she interviewed several celebrities and athletes and reported from the 2006 NFL Draft in New York City, and the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
During her time in Erie, Vanessa wore a number of hats, starting as a producer, and working her way up to evening anchor. She was actively involved in the community serving on the board of the ExpERIEnce Children's Museum, the steering committee for the United Way Young Leaders Society, and volunteering for several other organizations. She was also honored with a 2011 Generation E award from the Erie Young Professionals for her work in the community.
Vanessa is a proud graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
When Vanessa isn't in the newsroom she enjoys shopping, and eating out. She's also excited to start exploring Rochester!

Vanessa, Our state capital is Albany and is pronounced 'ALLBENY' not 'AL-BANEY'. I've heard you butcher this over the last couple of nights.
