Erin Sweeney has a voice that may just lead her to Broadway. That's why she works so hard honing her skills. We caught up with her during her weekly lesson with local voice and acting teacher Cara D'Emanuele. "Ever since I was 5 years old," Erin says, "Ii have always been involved with musical theater. It's been my passion for as long as I can remember." Erin's a staple in the plays and musicals at Penfield High School, including last year's production of "The Pajama Game." She's among a select group of students to participate in Geva Theater's Summer Conservatory. Others see what she feels inside: the stage is her home. "Music has made be a well-rounded person," she says. "I'm always doing something I love, I never miss out on anything. It keeps me focused and happy." "Erin knows that she wants to follow this as her career path," says D'Emanuele. She is very self-driven and self-motivated." Erin plans to study music and theater in college. Her dream is to be a working actor. With D'Emanuele's help, Erin pushes herself to work harder and reach higher. She's already living her dream!
